Zenpack is seeking a talented Junior Visual Designer to join our design team located in San Jose, California. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about creating the best packaging solutions in the world.

As a member of Zenpack’s design team, you will work closely with experienced designers, the business development team, engineers, and brand strategists to design packaging for the next generation of businesses. We work with a wide range of clients spanning from electronics, beauty, healthcare, fashion, and more. You will gain experience on conceptualizing, structural engineering, prototyping, and manufacturing. We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for design, sustainability, and packaging.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Create strategy-based concepts.
  • Collaborate with industrial designers, visual design leads, and other designers abroad.
  • Design and develop packaging solutions from early concept and prototyping through production.
  • Create packaging graphics based on design requirements.
  • Prepare designs for production.
  • Communicate with production team to maintain design intention.
  • Articulate your designs and their value in critiques and client-facing presentations.
  • Present designs and ideas to internal teams and clients.
  • Demonstrate time and task management skills.
  • Support internal marketing asset creation.

Required Skills / Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of experience working in a design or creative consultancy.  Degree in graphic / visual / communication design.
  • Highly proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Google Slides, Keynote, and Figma.
  • Excellent typography skills.
  • Tell stories with mood boards and sketches.
  • Create original, strategic, and memorable visual designs.
  • Open to different styles and appreciate different visual languages.
  • Proficient writing skills with an ability to communicate your ideas.
  • Reliable and accountable.
  • Organized, excellent attention to detail, and able to work well with a team.
  • Willingness to take direction and learn from others.
  • Multilingual skills are welcome, but not required.
  • International candidates must hold a valid US working visa.

Compensation
Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Travel
Possible domestic and international travel. Ability and willingness to travel as required (pending the safety and status of COVID-19 and other travel restrictions).

Position requires that candidate must work on-site.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Design and develop packaging solutions from early concept and prototyping through production.
  • Generate and build concepts, prototypes, and presentations.
  • Create 2D dielines for packaging structure.
  • Create 3D design models for design review.
  • Operate prototyping machine for paper-based prototypes and sampling.
  • Prepare samples and shipments.
  • Collaborate with engineering team and factories to maintain design intention.
  • Continually research new materials and processes to add to our capabilities.

Required Skills / Experience

  • Position requires that candidate must work on-site.
  • Excellent at hand sketching, model making, and mock-ups.
  • Proficient in 3D software (SolidWorks or Rhino preferred).
  • Proficient in 3D rendering (KeyShot preferred).
  • Presentation tools (Adobe Suite, Google Slides, Figma).
  • Organized, excellent attention to detail, and able to work well with a team.
  • Willingness to take direction and learn from others.
  • Multilingual skills are welcome, but not required.
  • International candidates must hold a valid US working visa
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design / Product Design

Zenpack is seeking a talented Office Manager to join our team located in San Jose, California. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about creating the best packaging solutions in the world.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day administration of the office.
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks as well as work on special projects.
  • The employee will sit at the front desk: greet visitors, answer phones, receive mail, schedule meetings, and monitor calendars.
  • Assist with office culture and employee experience.
  • Provide administrative support for mid-level managers and multiple supervisors.
  • Handle special administrative projects and assist other administrative staff with overflow work.
  • Sort and prepare documents for scanning.
  • Process incoming/outgoing deliveries.
  • Prepare certified and/or courier service mailing and maintain records.
  • Post office/FedEx/UPS runs for certified mail, regular mail, and drop courier mail.
  • Maintain organization of the office, kitchen area and conference rooms, making sure all items left in common areas are picked up, thrown away or properly stowed, as needed.
  • Assist in holiday season meal planning and organize event planning.
  • Operate prototyping machine for paper-based prototypes and sampling.
  • Prepare packaging design samples for shipment.
  • Maintain office supply needs.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be professional, polished, and possess a pleasant demeanor.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with all levels of personnel.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and very strong multi-tasking abilities.
  • Quick and enthusiastic learner.

Strongly Desired Skills / Experience

  • Ideal candidate has worked in a professional business environment for approximately 1+ years.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, takes initiative, and demonstrates team building skills.

Compensation
Salary: $28~$31 per hour.
Work hours: 9:00am to 6:00pm.
